About the Client Our client s an independent firm of Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors based in Leicester, UK, with over 100 years of experience serving businesses and individuals across the East Midlands. They are expanding their offshore team to support accounting, audit, tax, and business advisory services, helping deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions across a diverse portfolio of clients. The Role As an Accounts Trainee, you will support a portfolio of UK clients by preparing statutory accounts and tax computations while ensuring work is completed accurately and on time. Working closely with UK-based managers and the offshore team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting and maintaining excellent client service. Success in the first 6–12 months means confidently managing your assigned portfolio, producing review-ready accounts with minimal revisions, and building strong working relationships with both clients and colleagues. What You'll Do Working on a portfolio of clients, ensuring work is completed in a timely manner. Prepare annual accounts and tax computations for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Communicate with clients via email to resolve queries that arise during the accounts preparation. Communicate with client managers in the UK for job planning and regular progress updates. Manage all work efficiently, profitably and in accordance with the Company’s procedures. What We're Looking For Experience of working for a UK accountancy practice Be computer literate (particularly Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Xero, Sage and Quickbooks) Have good verbal and written communication skills. Key Result Area Plan, analyse and prepare working papers and financial statements for accounts managers to review. Work within budgets set to ensure profitability on jobs. Contact clients via email to raise any queries on the accounts and update the accounts as necessary to reflect the clients responses. Keep the Department Managers fully informed of status of all work, any challenges or delays encountered and suggestions for resolution of the same. Deliver an excellent level of customer service, managing and exceeding client expectations, responding to all ad hoc queries in a timely manner. Work with our existing team in the Philippines and with our UK based staff to progress technical skills and knowledge. Attend (virtually) and complete all mandatory training required by Client, ensuring our internal CPD requirement is met.
