Social Media Marketer - Healthcare (Part Time)

Our healthcare client is looking for a Freelance Social Media Marketer to own and execute marketing initiatives that elevate and grow its brand within the optometry community. This is a long-term, remote contract opportunity ideal for a self-motivated marketer who enjoys taking ownership of projects and driving strategy independently. The position is expected to begin immediately and will initially require approximately 5–10 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours as marketing initiatives expand. The schedule is highly flexible, allowing work to be completed outside of traditional business hours. This role pays $45/hour.    Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Help elevate and grow the brand through marketing initiatives tailored to the optometry community. Manage and maintain social media, email marketing, and select print advertising efforts. Assist with developing and executing marketing campaigns, including seasonal promotions and discount code initiatives. Coordinate content creation by preparing clear, organized creative briefs for the design team. Ensure marketing materials align with established brand standards and messaging. Create and distribute surveys to gather feedback from past and current registrants and identify opportunities for improvement. Monitor marketing performance and recommend ideas to increase engagement and grow the audience. Work independently, taking ownership of assigned marketing projects while collaborating with internal stakeholders as needed.   Who You Are / Skills We Are Looking For: The applicant should be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and excel in a deadline-driven environment. A self-starter who takes ownership of projects, works independently, and proactively identifies opportunities for improvement. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for a healthcare professional audience. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred; Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or brand marketing. Experience developing and executing marketing campaigns across social media and email platforms. Experience building brand awareness and audience engagement through strategic content planning. Experience creating marketing briefs and collaborating with designers or creative teams. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously with excellent organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing priorities effectively. Experience marketing to healthcare professionals or within the healthcare industry is a plus. Familiarity with social media scheduling platforms, email marketing software, and Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. As this is a freelance, contract position, please note that benefits are not included.
