Team Mission:

Technology has been and continues to be the catalyst for GetYourGuide’s growth. Our work in Design, Engineering, and Product is shaping the global travel experiences category — and you can help.
The products we build enable our customers to book unforgettable experiences and our partners to grow their businesses. This is a complex task that comes with an extraordinary opportunity. From developing the fintech infrastructure that simplifies customer payments to shaping the next leg of our growth journey, you can build incredible things at GetYourGuide, on a global scale.

At GetYourGuide, the Engineering team constantly pushes the boundaries, finding new ways to bring the magic of travel to people worldwide.

We’re organized in cross-functional mission teams, which are composed of software engineers, mobile engineers and data engineers, along with product managers and designers.

You will:

• Work as a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend focus) in a product team. We are a highly collaborative, customer-oriented team where every engineer is expected to contribute to solving real user problems and shaping the product experience.
• The role is an 80/20 full-stack position, working primarily with TypeScript and Node.js on the Backend. It requires strong experience across both frontend and backend development. A key part of the role involves owning our Server-Driven UI backend-for-frontend (BFF) layer — designing and implementing backend components that deliver dynamic UI configurations tailored to specific frontend needs, ultimately enhancing the end-user experience.
• You'll be working closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders, so strong stakeholder management skills are essential. We value engineers who are not only technically strong but also comfortable driving conversations, aligning with business needs, and advocating for the customer at every step.
• To support your mission team in quickly iterating and gaining insights into our customers, you will focus on designing, launching, and iterating on A/B experiments while continuously improving our codebase, systems, and processes.
• You will aim to design and develop efficient, scalable solutions and prioritize mentoring other team members and participating in the hiring process.
• Work involves technologies such as Vue.js, TypeScript, and Node.js, as well as exposure to Java and Spring Boot.
• Set team-wide standards and vision for responsible AI adoption, leverage AI tooling to accelerate development workflows and productivity, and drive measurable improvements in both product development speed and quality by strategically integrating AI into daily engineering practice.

• Expertise in web application development using component-based frameworks
• High proficiency in TypeScript
• Experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications & services
• Experience with writing tests

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Bonus points for:

• Backend experience with Java and Springboot
• Experience with A/B testing, hypothesis building, and event-based analytics
