IT/OT Specialist  –  Field   (automation & control)   This is a remote role with travel, must be based in the New England, relocation assistance is not offered.  This is a hands-on technical and equipment installation role.    The IT/OT Specialist – Field (automation & control) supports the Operational Technology (OT) team by installing, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining automation, control and IT systems across the company. This role ensures operational reliability and safety, directly supporting Relevate Power’s mission of advancing clean and sustainable energy solutions. Your control systems, OT and IT expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of our company and contributing to our mission of clean energy transformation. As a key member of the  IT/ OT team,  you’ll  work hands-on at the intersection of renewable energy, industrial control systems,  IT systems,  and modern  operational  technologies. Your contributions will help restore historic waterpower plants to their former glory—and beyond. With a passion for quality engineering and durable infrastructure, your work will extend the life of these essential assets for generations to come, strengthening communities along the river and securing a clean energy future.     Key Responsibilities   Install,  maintain  and troubleshoot  plant   PLCs and  control systems for power generation ,  and integrate them  with the ROC SCADA system .   Install,  maintain  and   troubleshoot   plant s  and  Remote Operations Center’s  IT and OT systems , including  HMIs,  networking, telecommunications, CCTV  systems,  operator  computers , software , among others.     Perform routine system checks and maintenance to prevent unforeseen failures.   Respond to failures  and  system malfunctions . P romptly  d iagnose and resolve to minimize downtime.   Plan and execute PLC, IHM and station gateway program  modifications  in  coordination with Operations  team .   Plan and execute regular system upgrades, software updates, and hardware maintenance ,  accordance  with Relevate Power standards, including procurement of materials and coordination with Operations.   Maintain  accurate  records, documentation, and reports related to SCADA system performance, incidents,  upgrades,  and maintenance activities.   Always follow and enforce company safety standards and Health, Safety, Security & Environmental (HSSE) policies.   Collaborate with  compliance,  projects   and operations teams to ensure seamless plant operations  and evolution .   Provide training and support to staff  regarding  control system operations.   Manage relationships with vendors and  contractors   Ensure the  control  system s  adhere  to all relevant standards and regulations .   Foster teamwork, provide guidance, and  facilitate  skill development within the team.   Manage the budget for  IT and OT processes , including procurement, maintenance, and personnel expenses.   Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management.   Perform  additional  duties and  responsibilities as  assigned by  the manager .   This position will  require  t ravel   up to 4 days per week.     Required Qualifications:   Bachelor’s degree, military, or equivalent in a relevant field , and Minimum of  3  years of professional experience in  PLCs and  control systems  installation   and maintenance , and Proven  hands-on experience  in  PLCs ,  HMI  and  SCADA systems  configuration , preferably in the hydropower or energy industry.   Proven hands-on experience installing and configuring  hardware and  software, security systems, network equipment, and related systems.   Proficiency  in running and  terminating  data and electrical cabling .   Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.   Strong knowledge of safety protocols with a demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.   E xperience  with  electrical systems   on  110 - 13 8 00  VAC  and 12 - 130  VDC .   Ability to read and interpret electrical  and  communications   schematics and wiring diagrams.   Proficiency  in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.   Maintain a valid  Driver’s license     Desirable  Qualifications:   H ands-on experience  with   Ignition  SCADA  as well as  GE ,  Emerson, A llen - B radley  and  A utomation Direct   PLCs .   Strong knowledge of cybersecurity  best  practices and protocols   (e.g., NERC CIP) .   Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.   Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.   Experience providing user training and support for software systems.   Our People Are the Foundation of Our Mission At Eagle Creek Employer LLC, everything starts with our people.
