Water Management Program Specialist (ASHRAE Standard 188)

Location: Remote with Nationwide Travel Position Summary I-2-I Solutions is seeking an experienced Water Management Planner to assist with the development, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing maintenance of healthcare Water Management Programs in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 188 , CDC guidance, and federal healthcare requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with healthcare water systems, ANSI/AAMI ST108 sterile processing water testing , Legionella risk management, and dental water quality programs. This position provides support to hospitals, Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, military treatment facilities, and other healthcare organizations. Essential Duties Develop, implement, and update Water Management Programs in alignment with ASHRAE Standard 188. Conduct onsite assessments and risk evaluations of healthcare water systems. Create water system flow diagrams and schematics. Identify potential hazards, risks, and appropriate control measures. Review water quality data and provide recommendations for corrective actions. Coordinate with facility engineering teams, infection prevention staff, sterile processing personnel, and laboratory representatives. Assess compliance with CDC, CMS, VA, Joint Commission, and ANSI/AAMI requirements and guidance. Support Legionella prevention and water safety strategies. Develop sampling plans for: Potable water systems Sterile Processing water systems (ANSI/AAMI ST108) Dental Unit Waterlines Utility water systems Assist with water quality investigations, including outbreak response and corrective action activities. Provide customer training and technical presentations. Prepare detailed professional technical reports. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have experience in one or more of the following areas: Certified Water Technologist Professional Engineer Environmental Health Specialist Industrial Hygienist Healthcare Facilities Engineer Water Treatment Specialist Infection Prevention experience Additional requirement: Five or more years of experience in healthcare water management. Preferred Experience Experience with the following is preferred: ASHRAE Standard 188 ANSI/AAMI ST108 VA Directive 1061 Legionella Risk Assessments Dental Unit Waterline Programs Sterile Processing Departments Healthcare engineering CMS compliance Joint Commission standards CDC toolkit implementation Desired Skills Strong technical writing abilities Excellent presentation skills Project management experience Ability to work independently Willingness to travel nationwide Strong customer relationship and communication skills Preferred Certifications ASSE 12080 Legionella Water Safety & Management Specialist ASSE 12060 Water Management Program Administrator Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) Professional Engineer (PE) Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
