🏢 About the Role A performance marketing agency working with universities and nonprofit organizations is hiring an SEO Content Editor to help strengthen the quality and performance of long-form SEO content, program pages, and AI-search visibility. This role focuses on editing and optimizing long-form content (1,000–3,000+ words) and program pages to ensure it is clear, accurate, and aligned with SEO strategies that improve rankings, organic traffic, engagement, and visibility across traditional and AI-driven search (Google AI Overviews, featured snippets, People Also Ask, generative engines). You'll work within SEO-driven content workflows — including content produced through AirOps — collaborating with the SEO team, content writers, and account teams to ensure articles meet high editorial standards and support search performance goals. The team combines strategy, creative thinking, and data-driven marketing to help partners achieve meaningful outcomes like enrollments, applications, inquiries, and awareness. 🛠 What You’ll Do You’ll focus on improving the quality and performance of SEO-driven content. Edit and refine long-form SEO content and program pages (1,000–3,000+ words) Ensure content is clear, well-structured, factually accurate, and professionally written Optimize content to align with SEO strategy, keyword targeting, header structure, and internal linking Structure and format content for AI-driven search visibility (AI Overviews, featured snippets, People Also Ask, generative engines) using entity-based SEO, semantic search, and E-E-A-T principles Edit and quality-control AirOps-generated or AirOps-supported content, treating AI outputs as drafts requiring human editorial and SEO judgment Refresh and re-optimize legacy content to address ranking decay Use SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Clearscope/Surfer, Google Search Console, GA4) to guide edits and recommendations Maintain high standards for grammar, clarity, and language quality Collaborate with the SEO team, writers, and account teams to keep content moving through the workflow ✅ What We’re Looking For 5+ years of experience in SEO editing, content optimization, or digital editorial roles Experience editing long-form SEO content and program pages (1,000–3,000+ words) Demonstrated impact improving rankings, organic traffic, or engagement metrics Strong command of on-page SEO: search intent, header structure, keyword integration, internal linking Experience optimizing content for AI-driven search environments (AI Overviews, Featured Snippets) Understanding of entity-based SEO, semantic search, and E-E-A-T principles Proficiency with SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Clearscope/Surfer, Google Search Console, GA4) 100% fluency in English (written and editorial quality) Experience working with U.S. companies or English-speaking teams 🌟 Bonus Points Experience working with higher education content Experience editing content in highly regulated or research-heavy industries Experience with AirOps or similar AI content workflows 💰 What You’ll Get 💵 Competitive USD compensation based on experience/scope 🌍 100% remote role 🎯 Work that directly impacts organic search performance 🤝 Collaboration with a mission-driven marketing team 📈 Opportunity to work on content that supports universities and nonprofit organizations 🧩 Why This Role Might Be a Fit ✅ You’re passionate about clear, high-quality writing ✅ You enjoy improving content so it performs better in search ✅ You’re detail-oriented and care about editorial excellence ✅ You enjoy working within structured content workflows ✅ You want your work to support organizations that create real-world impact 🧭 Interview Process Application Review – resume and relevant experience Intro Call – background and SEO editing experience First Interview with the Kanahoma Team – discussion about experience, workflow, and role alignment Editing Exercise – review and edit a sample piece of content Final Interview – team collaboration and overall fit Offer Timeline: usually 2–3 weeks 📩 Ready to Apply?
