Role Overview

As the VP of Commercial Excellence you will bridge the gap between global strategy and regional execution by constantly improving the GTM approach and ensuring every customer-facing team member is equipped with the data, tools, and skills to win. You will lead a unified organization that encompasses: Functional Learning & Enablement, BDR, Revenue Operations, and Sales Strategy & Execution. This position reports into the CCO, and is part of the Commercial Leadership Team. The ultimate goal of this role is to ensure Adyen has the most effective GTM motion globally within an ever-changing environment.

What you’ll do

Revenue Operations

• Revenue Growth: Grow revenue through structural guidance, measures and incentives, and grow efficiency gains through improved ways of working and adoption of AI across all commercial teams. Ensure data-driven ways of working, in close alignment with our other commercial engine functions.
• Commercial Tech Stack: Manage the internal tools and platforms (like Salesforce, Marketo, Qualtrics, Gong, Clay, Conveyor, LinkedIn, etc) to ensure data flows accurately between teams, reducing "friction" in the customer journey and teams can work in the most effective way.
• Performance & Data Intelligence: Partner with Revenue Analytics (in Finance) to track global performance trends and deliver forward looking insights. Interpret pipeline data to provide strategic direction and reclaim team bandwidth.

• Commercial Enablement

• Commercial Academy Ensure learning programs through the Commercial Academy align with the fast-evolving needs of the business and move to specialization.
• Commercial Enablement. Design and build a global commercial enablement program including:

• Design and scale a unified global enablement program for role specific enablement journeys.
• Orchestrate cross-functional alignment between Marketing, Product, and Sales; establishing clear ownership to ensure enablement initiatives drive measurable revenue impact.
• Formalize and govern a standardized commercial methodology and content repository, ensuring our strategy is consistently executed across all global regions. The goal is to make sure all commercial teams have access to relevant information always.

• Global Sales Strategy and Business Development Leadership

• Global Sales Excellence: Lead the global alignment for Sales and Business Development on topics including:

• Global Sales Strategy
• Resource Allocation
• Incentive Design
• Performance Calibration
• Commercial Execution (Sales Process)
• Cross-functional Ways of Working model
• Initiatives to improve sales effectiveness

• Commercial Engine Evolution: Lead the optimization of the go-to-market operating model for the teams supporting commercial activities, mainly driven by surfacing and scaling local best practices and data based insights

Who you are

• Executive-level experience (15+ years) in a multi-dimensional B2B commercial role, with exposure across the full sales cycle and revenue-driving activities
• Proven experience leading large, global teams in complex, matrixed organizations, with high personal accountability and a collaborative leadership style
• Strong strategic mindset with a business-first approach to execution, with a proven ability to partner closely with other commercial leaders, grounded in solving real customer problems
• Deep understanding of performance metrics and a growth mindset focused on continuous improvement.
• Expertise in the modern tech stack (Salesforce, Gong, Looker, and AI-driven sales tools)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across cultures, regions, and functions.
