Technical Trainee – Full Stack Developer (Python)

The Lidar department of the Valeo R&D Center in Prague is developing the flagship among our sensors: the Valeo SCALA® lidar is the first and still the only mass-produced automotive laser sensor on the market. It can detect obstacles on the road up to a distance of 200 meters and classify them in all weather conditions. It is used by carmakers for their most advanced models such as the Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8 or Honda Legend. Up to 30% of new premium vehicles are to reach level 3 of autonomous driving by 2030, and to do so, they will have to be equipped with lidar technology. We develop hardware, software, optics, mechanical construction, execute system testing and industrialization of this product. The LiDAR team is currently looking for a Technical Trainee – Full Stack Developer (Python) . YOUR CHALLENGES: Development of software tools and KPI scripts for validation and verification of algorithms and systems based on functional requirements Development of HIL solutions for system validation Support in Design and implementation of SW toolchain for better ease of use of individual systems and automating development processes Support in Documentation of implemented solutions according to the Valeo standard Administration, maintenance and modification of implemented solutions according to current requirements Perform Specification reviews, Software Design Reviews and Peer Code Reviews on a regular basis Collaborate in the creation of system specifications and system requirements, communication with interested teams Ensure software quality in accordance with company processes LET'S TALK ABOUT YOU… Currently enrolled university student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, ideally in the 3rd year of Bachelor’s studies or 4th–5th year of Master’s studies Strong hands-on experience with Python – advanced knowledge is required Experience with frontend development (e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, HTML/CSS) and databases (e.g. SQL) Knowledge of C++ is an advantage, but not essential English – intermediate level ; Czech or Slovak – advanced level Team-oriented and proactive approach , with a willingness to learn and take initiative Availability for part-time work – approximately 20 hours per week WE OFFER 1 year part-time contract, Paid Vacation entitlement for DPČ Flexible working hours and home office possibility Meal vouchers and leisure contribution Possibility of Multisport card Fitness room and external sports ground (football, basketball, volleyball) on site Company canteen offering a selection of international cuisine Easy access to work by Prague metro line A, car parking for all employees Personal development program through technical trainings and language courses Regular company team building events Outdoor relax zone with a barbecue space for team building Possibility to see the whole development process in one place from an idea (customer requirement) to a product testing and manufacturing Job: R&D Trainee/Apprentice/VIE Organization: Software Project Schedule: Part time Employee Status: Trainee (Fixed Term) (Trainee) Job Type: Employment agreement (DPC) of non own employees Job Posting Date: 2026-08-13 Join Us !
