Overview Compensation: $23.30 - $29.80 hourly based on experience and credentials Location Type: Remote Position Type: F ull Time Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM    Prepares and discusses Closing Disclosures with borrowers on first mortgage, FNMA, portfolio, construction, and investor mortgage loans. Performs all work according to Credit Union policies and procedures, and regulatory laws.   Responsibilities • Helps lead team daily production. • Has attended or does attend within 6 months of promotion, the follow Professional Development Workshops: Professional Communication, Stages of Critical Thinking, Navigating Conversations, and Drive. • Works with other seniors on the team to support the supervisors as needed. • Takes escalation calls or issues as needed. • Assists with error corrections. • Demonstrates the credit unions cultural beliefs. • Demonstrates strong internal and external customer support. • Completes tasks and meets all closing conditions associated with loan approval according to Fannie Mae, PMI, FHA, USDA, and Credit Union guidelines. • Performs verbal verifications of employment prior to closing on applicable files. • Updates loan origination system to ensure accurate loan amount, term, interest rate, borrower names, and closing costs are displayed on applicable documents. • Obtains internal pay offs for accurate disbursement date and updates loan origination system. • Responsible for accurate production of all mortgage closing documents. Verifies all data entry, including legal description, applicable mortgage riders, adjustable rate change dates, accurate calculation of initial escrow deposit and closing costs, and inclusion of closing conditions noted in loan underwriting approval. • Resolves any outstanding closing conditions prior to scheduling closing date. • Ensures adequate coverage of hazard and flood insurance has been received and Suncoast Credit Union has been listed as mortgagee. • Establishes and maintains a friendly, professional rapport with mortgage applicants. Answers questions and returns phone calls and emails in a timely manner according to established performance standards and benchmarks. • Responsible for accurate preparation and approval of Closing Disclosure. • Assists Service Centers with questions regarding mortgage applications in closing stage. May meet with members and conduct closings of mortgage loans. • Attends job-specific training classes as requested by manager. Completes annual BSA/AML compliance training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • 5 or more years mortgage processing and/or closing experience with at least two years of Fannie Mae experience preferred. • Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to resolve problems and situations that may require minor adjustments to working methods. • Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities. • Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to communicate information that requires explanation or interpretation. • Works under moderate supervision.   Safe Act Statement This position requires the employee to register as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS). The employee will obtain a unique identifier from the registry before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities.
