Team mission

As a General Ledger Senior Accountant at GetYourGuide, you'll play a vital role in our Accounting Team. Reporting directly to the Head of General Ledger, your mission is clear: maintain top-notch and compliant accounting for the GetYourGuide Group. You'll work diligently to ensure accurate financial reporting, adhere to corporate policies and accounting standards, and provide timely information to our valued internal and external stakeholders.

At GetYourGuide, we believe great accountants should also be great experimenters. You’ll have hands-on access to leading AI tools like Claude, Langdock, and Lovable, with real freedom to try them out, break things in a sandbox, and find better ways to work. Our Accounting team actively encourages testing new AI-powered approaches to reconciliations, reporting, and process design — you’ll help shape how AI transforms finance at GetYourGuide, not just use what’s handed to you

Your mission

• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly reports and contribute to the annual financial statements for the GetYourGuide international entities
• Analytical Expertise: Dive into accounts and statements, delivering meticulous reconciliations according to month-end-close deadlines and on an ad-hoc basis
• Ownership and Innovation: Lead accounting-related projects, including Business Process Designs, Internal Controls and Process Improvements
• Communication Hub: Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external inquiries regarding Accounting and Tax Accounting
• Collaborative Partnerships: Collaborate with external stakeholders like auditors, tax consultants and accounting consultants

Your toolkit

• Educational Foundation: University degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or MBA) in Accounting and Finance or a recognized advanced vocational qualification (e.g., Certified Accountant ACA / ACCA), or completed relevant vocational training with additional qualifications in the area of financial accounting
• Financial Experience: A minimum of 5 years in the finance department of a medium-sized company, ideally within the e-commerce sector
• Regulatory Know-How: Strong knowledge of the commercial code and IFRS
• Analytical Skills: Excel in analytical tasks and demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel and SAP
• Language Prowess: Excellent English skills are a must
• Work Ethic: Be an independent and structured worker while embracing teamwork and displaying reliable time management
