Remote (South Africa-based) Freelance Business & Marketing Strategist (Once-Off Audit)

This is a remote position. We're looking for an experienced freelance   Business & Marketing Strategist  to conduct a once-off audit for an established Johannesburg-based photography studio specialising in professional model portfolio photography. The objective is to identify practical opportunities to increase enquiries, improve conversion rates, and help grow the business to a sustainable monthly profit target through a clear, prioritised action plan. Scope of Work Conduct a comprehensive audit and provide actionable recommendations covering: Business positioning and messaging Website user experience and booking journey Instagram strategy and content direction Instagram / Meta advertising performance and opportunities Packages, pricing, and value proposition Referral and client acquisition strategy Lead generation and conversion funnel Review of a proposed membership/community concept and how it can best support the core photography business Deliverables A comprehensive business and marketing audit Prioritised recommendations identifying the highest-impact improvements A practical action plan outlining what should be implemented first to increase paid bookings Strategic guidance focused on sustainable business growth rather than ongoing execution Requirements Proven experience in business strategy and marketing consulting Experience working with small service businesses, creative businesses, or personal brands Strong understanding of lead generation, conversion optimisation, customer journeys, and marketing funnels Experience with Meta (Facebook & Instagram) advertising Ability to identify commercial opportunities and provide practical, results-driven recommendations Excellent communication and presentation skills This is a   once-off strategic consulting project . Ongoing marketing management is   not  required at this stage. Budget: R4,350 fixed once-off project fee for the audit and action plan. This is negotiable depending on the proposed scope and deliverables. Should both parties decide to continue working together, any ongoing engagement can be scoped and priced separately.
