Mid/Senior Java Developer (Banking/Fintech)

We are looking for a  Mid/Senior   Java Developer  to join a long-term  fintech / banking  project. The role involves designing and developing scalable backend solutions using  Java 21  and  Spring Boot , working within a  microservices architecture , and ensuring high performance and reliability of backend systems. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with  REST API  development,  cloud  environments ( AWS ), and modern  DevOps  practices, and holds valid residency in Lithuania, Latvia, or Estonia (citizenship required; background check applies). \n Key Responsibilities: Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend systems using  Java 21  and  Spring Boot Build and optimize  REST APIs  following best practices in software architecture Work within a  microservices architecture , ensuring modularity and maintainability Manage builds and dependencies using  Gradle Write and maintain automated tests using  JUnit ,  Mockito , and  AssertJ Ensure code quality through  SonarQube  analysis and code review processes Work with  GitLab  for version control and  CI/CD  pipeline management Containerize and deploy services using  Docker  on  AWS Implement logging with  Logback  /  SLF4J  and monitor systems via  Grafana Handle asynchronous event-driven communication using  Kafka Work with  PostgreSQL  as the primary database and  Redis  for caching Apply strong security principles and best practices throughout the development lifecycle Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment Must-Have Requirements: Proven professional experience in  Java  development with a strong technical background Proficiency in  Java 21  and  Spring Boot Experience with  Gradle  as a build and dependency management tool Hands-on experience with  JUnit ,  Mockito , and  AssertJ  for testing Familiarity with  SonarQube  for code quality assurance Solid experience with  GitLab  and  CI/CD  pipelines Experience with  Docker  containerization Hands-on experience with  AWS  cloud services Knowledge of  Logback  and  SLF4J  for logging Experience with  Grafana  for system monitoring Working knowledge of  Kafka  for messaging and event streaming Proficiency with  PostgreSQL  and  Redis Expertise in solution design and  microservices architecture Strong understanding of security principles and best practices in software development Knowledge of  DevOps  practices and related tooling Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a collaborative mindset Lithuanian, Latvian, or Estonian citizenship (residency requirement; BGC required) Fluency in  English Nice to Have: Prior experience working on  fintech  projects   \n €30 - €50 an hour Duration: Long-term with possible extension \n
