Infrastructure Engineer | Senior

What we're building BlancVPN runs a privacy service used by hundreds of thousands of people across the world — which means a distributed fleet of servers that has to stay fast, resilient, and always on. We're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer | Senior to own that fleet: the automation, monitoring, networking, and VPN protocols that keep the service reliable no matter where a user connects from. This is a hands-on operations role for someone who's happiest when the system runs itself — automating the routine, catching problems before users do, and expanding the network without dropping availability. What we're looking for Core Requirements - Fluent Russian and English ( B2+ ) - 5+ years in infrastructure, systems, or SRE operations - Confident Linux and general *nix administration: system internals, troubleshooting, and kernel or network tuning - Hands-on Ansible : writing roles and playbooks, with a solid understanding of IaC principles - Experience with containerization and Docker Swarm - Practical experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager , and exporters - Solid networking fundamentals: OSI model, TCP/IP stack, routing, DNS, and iptables/nftables - Experience administering VPN protocols such as WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPsec/IKEv2, Xray, and Amnezia - Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go Nice-to-have - Understanding of LXD-based virtualization - Experience with BGP - Experience operating traffic-balancing and high-availability systems at scale What you'll be doing Operations and Automation - Own infrastructure operations: administer and support a distributed fleet of dedicated servers and virtual machines - Build monitoring and response systems: configure and maintain a full Prometheus-based monitoring and alerting stack - Automate routine operations, node configuration, and deployment workflows with Ansible Network and Availability - Expand the network: roll out new services and integrate new locations into the shared infrastructure - Maintain high availability: operate traffic-balancing systems that keep services resilient - Join a paid 24/7 on-call rotation for fast incident response What we offer 🌍 Work from anywhere — fully remote (except Russia, Belarus, China, Syria, Iran, Yemen, North Korea, and some other regions) 🗓️ Flexible 5-day week — start when it suits you; loosely aligned to CET ⏱️ Overtime is paid separately — on-call and incident work is compensated 💻 Full home-office setup — all the equipment you need, on us 🌴 40 flexible paid days off + paid sick leave ❤️ Benefits — VHI, wellness, language courses, mental health support and a referral program 📈 Room to grow — annual development budget + in-person team meet-ups Stages 👋 Welcome Call 🛠️ Technical Call 🤝 Pre-Offer Call
