The mission As an engineer in the AI Chapter, you will be part of the Wholesale Banking Lending Tech organization. The AI Chapter focuses on delivering AI-driven capabilities across Lending, including data extraction, AIOps, and intelligent automation. The chapter works closely with engineering squads, data teams, and business stakeholders to develop and scale AI use cases that improve efficiency, risk management, and decision-making. You will contribute to multiple initiatives within the AI portfolio, gaining exposure to different use cases and technologies. Your day to day In this role you will: Develop and scale AI/GenAI and machine learning use cases in the Lending domain Translate business problems into data-driven and AI-enabled solutions Work with modern AI and cloud stack (e.g., Python, APIs, CI/CD, cloud platforms such as GCP) Collaborate with engineering teams and business stakeholders across multiple squads Contribute to automation, data extraction, and intelligent decision-support solutions Support end-to-end delivery including prototyping, testing, deployment, and documentation What you'll bring to the team We are looking for someone with strong fundamentals and a growth mindset: Strong programming skills in Python (Java is a plus) Knowledge of machine learning, NLP, or LLM-based solutions Experience with modern AI tooling (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face) Familiarity with APIs and software engineering best practices Understanding of CI/CD, software lifecycle, and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) Strong collaboration and communication skills in a cross-functional environment If you want to deep dive into the processing of personal data conducted by ING Hubs Romania during the recruitment process and your rights related to it, read the privacy notices on our website (make sure to scroll until you reach the Data Protection section/ Candidates tab).
